Measuring Your Success!
Here’s a quick and simple way to measure your successes in life. If you’ve never done this before you may be surprised at the amount of information you can glean from this short exercise.
Draw a line for each area in your life that you’d like to think about and give them each a label. Mark a notch“0” at the left hand side, and “10” at the right hand side. It might look something like this:-
For each part of your life that you are considering,”0″ represents its worst manifestation and 10 represents your ideal. You can make however many lines for as many labels as you like. It’s up to you.
Now put an “x” where you think you might be on that continuum.
The interesting thing is that it is likely you will know quite instinctively where to put your “x”. It’s rare for people to not know where they consider themselves to be. Whether you have gone from a “0” to “x” over time or from “10” to “x” is an unknown story.
But you do know where you are today.
If you are on the upper end of the scale go celebrate! Acknowledge that you are close to what you want to consider to be ideal for you in that area of your life!
But here’s the deal for most of us.
Firstly, you know what “0” and “10” mean. Isn’t that amazing??
You know what the worse financial situation would be for you. You know what your ideal relationship could look like. YOU defined them, and you clearly defined them the minute you put your “x” on the line. These are no one else’s definition but yours. You have attached your own meaning to what “10” could be for you.
( ..or are you using someone else’s definition? That’s another blog…)
The second thing you might want to consider is what does the gap between “x” and “10” means for you? Do you want to move it towards “10”? Why not?
If you do want to move it towards 10, what is the most effective way of getting there?
Who will be your most effective guide?
Who has achieved your “10” and can help you get there?
Now go camp in their energy orbit.
